GroupSoft Delivers Value With GS/ServiceDesk Version 12

May 7, 2010 - Newton, MA - GroupSoft has once again added value to its GS/ServiceDesk product by integrating change management into the application with no increase in the license fee. A proper change management culture, assisted by a competent change management tool, is widely viewed as the best way to minimize service interruptions. This new feature gives visibility to planned changes and a way to measure the rate and cause of change failures. It provides a repository for critical information such as affected assets, test plans and backout procedures.

Other changes in this release were designed to make administration easier and reduce server load by consolidating agents. In addition, a number of customer service agent productivity features were added or enhanced.

Although designed primarily for external customer support, GS/ServiceDesk can be configured to run both internal help desk operations and customer service.

GS/ServiceDesk Version 12 is available now. A full evaluation version is available by registering on the GroupSoft web site. The application runs on all Domino 6.5 or later server platforms including Linux. It supports the Notes client, including Notes 8.5, and recent versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari and other web browsers. License fees are based on the number of customer service agents, with unlimited customer self-help access. The license includes incident management, knowledge base, asset tracking and bug tracking modules.
