GroupSoft Systems Supports Mass. Software Council's Visual Communications Contest Newton, MA, May 20, 1999 - GroupSoft Systems was a participating company in the 1998-99 Visual Communications Contest sponsored by the Massachusetts Software Council in conjunction with the Boston University School for the Arts. The competition was designed to give students experience working with real companies to develop a corporate identity program, product collateral, web sites and other graphic design elements. The project began with a kick-off meeting in November 1998 and culminated with presentations and voting by members of the Mass. Software Council at the Council's spring meeting held on May 11 in Newton. Three students selected to work with GroupSoft Systems after hearing presentations from ten participating companies. They are Olga Gourka and Jay Yada, both seniors in the undergraduate program, and graduate student Susan Yoon. Susan Yoon's work for GroupSoft Systems was the third place winner in the competition. "This was a tremendous opportunity for GroupSoft Systems to see a wide range of fresh ideas for our new corporate look. We were very pleased with the results and the professionalism of the students", commented GroupSoft Systems' CEO Carl Fink. The program was coordinated by Barbara Bates of the Massachusetts Software Council and Prof. Alston Purvis, Director of the Visual Arts Division at Boston University School for the Arts.
