GroupSoft Adds Change Management to Flagship IT Service Management Application

June 23, 2008 - Newton, MA - GroupSoft has added Change Management to Version 12 of GS/HelpDesk, its IT service management application for IBM Lotus Notes. The product now fully supports the three most widely implemented processes defined in ITIL: Incident Management, Problem Management and Change Management.

Eliminating poorly planned and executed changes is a critical step in reducing unplanned outages. The Change Management features in GS/HelpDesk provide the tools to schedule and approve changes and provide an audit trail needed for regulatory compliance purposes. Changes can be linked to incident and problem reports and to the related configuration item (asset).

Other new features include email templates with merge fields, support for a two-stage close procedure, tracking fields for virtualized and clustered servers and linking of assets to incidents and problems.

GS/HelpDesk Version 12 is available now. A full evaluation version is available by registering on the GroupSoft web site. The product runs on all Domino 6.5 or later server platforms including Linux. It can be used with either a Notes client or a Web browser. License fees are based on the number of IT technicians, with unlimited employee self-help access. The license includes incident/problem/change management, project management, knowledge base and asset/vendor modules. All GroupSoft products are licensed with fully unlocked design (source code).
